Hello and Welcome to Paul Jensen's Website!

On behalf of Paul welcome - thanks for stopping by.  He hopes you really enjoy his site.

This website has been developed to showcase Paul's different styles of art, and to provide some insight into how his style has evolved and is always evolving.

The website features a number of online galleries that have been created to reflect Paul's artistic and life interests, as well as his mastery of different styles and media.

There is also a catalogue which provides some detail about the different styles Paul has adopted, and some insight into the Paul's interest, travels and artistic drivers - in Paul's own words.

Paul has also held a two solo exhibitions, which you can read about on this site as well.  His most recent exhibition was 'Endless Progression' which was held in 2007 at the Art Arena Gallery in Wollongong, New South Wales Australia.

Paul asked me to say a few words by way of introduction at the opening of this event - and I was happy to do so as someone who has peered over his shoulder for many years now watching him work - I felt very honoured to share with the assembled crowd some of my own insights and observations of where Paul has been and is going with his art.

The feature of Endless Progression was the debut of his 'Kracked Heads' style. I had first met Paul in the mid 1980's. It was awesome to see some twenty years later he was still working away at his art. What I really loved about this new style he was developing was that it had a childlike innocence to it. But to me it was also dislocating: you've not seen anything like it before.

The subject matter appealed to me as well - we share common interests in music, and musicians feature prominently, as does the theme of surfing (Paul loves surfing).

Paul had been working on the theme of the exhibition and reflected upon this statement by Pablo Picasso:

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up..."

I observed then, and continue to appreciate now - the progression he has  demonstrated, and the authenticity and freshness with which he sees the world and expresses it through his art . The 'Kracked Heads' represent the essence of Picasso's reflection and the spirit and soul of Paul himself.

Again, welcome to Paul's site.

Drop him a line if you care to - he would like to hear from you.

Peace.
